Another leopard killed in Dik-Oya

The carcass of a leopard was found in Dik-Oya Estate in Hatton area recently.This is the third leopard death reported in 2021.

According to information received by the Wildlife Conservation Department, the leopard was found at Dik-Oya Estate by the Nallathanniya Wildlife Office. The Wildlife Department stated that leopards in this area fall victim to traps set up in estates.The Department noted that its officers conducted a random inspection at the end of May to find out if there were any traps in the Dik-oya, Hatton area.
