Over 21,087 persons have been arrested by police in various parts of the country so far for violating the quarantine rules including not wearing face masks.
Police had arrested 947 persons for violating the quarantine rules during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am yesterday (3). The highest number of arrests were made in the Matale area with 163 persons while 88 persons have been arrested from Kuliyapitiya and 73 from Nikaweratiya while the rest have been arrested from various parts of the country, the Police Media Spokesman said.
