A 28-year-old suspect was arrested in Kitulkotte, Thanamalwila by the Ambalantota Special Task Force (STF) recently along with 4.200 grams of cannabis while he was taking them to sell in Mattala.
The Ambalantota STF carried out the raid on a tip off by the Hambantota Navy Intelligence Unit. The suspect was arrested, while he was carrying cannabis in a fertiliser bag.
The suspect had told Police that he was arrested while he was bringing the cannabis from Kitulkote, Tanamalwila for sale to a person in Mattala. He had been selling cannabis in bulk to various persons for some time, Police said. He was to be produced before Court.
