Mrs Ranji Mahindapala, wife of former Sunday Observer Chief Editor H.L.D Mahindapala passed away yesterday (May 29) at a private hospital in Colombo after a brief illness.
The two of them relocated to Sri Lanka two years back having spent over 50 years in Melbourne Australia, where they migrated in the early 70s. They were a popular couple among the Sri Lankan community in Australia, especially in SPUR (Society for Peace Unity and Human Rights for Sri Lanka) circles.
Funeral arrangements are to be notified later.
