The Environment Ministry and the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Parliamentarians in the Kurunegala District will carry out a Tree Planting Campaign during the New Year season.
About 500,000 saplings such as jack, mango, margosa, wood apples and rare medicinal plants will be planted assisted by schoolchildren, teachers and parents.
The saplings will be planted under the patronage of Kurunegala District SLPP Parliamentarian and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse, Kurunegala District Senior Divisional Secretary W.E.Jayathilake said.
