The Government implements stable strategies to develop the country, Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga said. He was addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Ranliya Aruna Women's Association in Udugampola, yesterday.
“The government does not intend to destroy forests. We always act to protect them. The Opposition is trying to say that the Government is destroying forests by using images of deforestation from other countries,” the minister said.
The previous government did not implement a strong mechanism to control the escalating prices of goods. They did nothing to strengthen the rural economy. Before 2015, there was a project aimed at developing rural economy, but the previous regime discontinued it," he added.
