Livestock, Farm Promotion and Dairy and Egg Related Industries State Minister D.B.Herath said that the Government has decided to offer Rs. 1,000 million as loans to the dairy farmers this year to promote fresh liquid milk production.
The dairy farmers can obtain the loans from the Regional Development Bank (RDB) at an annual interest rate of Rs. 7.5 mn.
A farmer can apply up to Rs. 1 million. Providing of the loans was approved by the Budget 2021 presented by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa under the ‘Vision of Prosperity’, State Minister D.B. Herath said when he was interviewed by Daily News yesterday in Kurunegala.
