Attorney General (AG) Dappula de Livera has informed Parliament Secretary General Dhammika Dasanayake that MP Ranjan Ramanayake’s, parliamentary seat was vacated.
The Attorney General officially informed the Secretary General of this decision, AG's Coordinating Officer, State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne said.
Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake was sentenced to four years’ Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) on Tuesday by the Supreme Court for committing the offence of ‘Contempt of Court’.
