Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi said on Sunday (10) at the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital that the Government has established 25 PCR testing centres and equipped them with 34 machines.
She said the Government is increasing the number of centres and establishing new PCR testing facilities. The Government identified more intensive care units and developed them.
Health Minister Wanniarachchi further said that around 11,000 PCR tests are conducted daily at Government hospitals.
She said President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s decision to lockdown the country following the outbreak of the virus helped to contain the spread of the virus to a great extent.
