Northern Province Governor P.M.S. Charles has decided to close all schools in the Jaffna and the Kilinochchi Districts from today.
Schools in Jaffna and Kilinochchi were closed when several schools were flooded.
The affected in the floods and cyclone were sheltered in schools.
Schools in the North were closed on December 4 and 5 and were to be reopened today.
The schools in the Vavuniya, Mannar and Mullaitivu Districts will reopen today, but the reopening of schools in the Jaffna and the Kilinochchi Districts will be announced later, the Governor said.
