Sri Lanka Junior Throw Ball Player, Sri Lanka Junior under 23 Netball Poolist, Athlete and Volleyball player Aluthgamage Chanidu Rashmi Obeysekera excelled in sports during her school career at Rajasinghe Madya Maha Vidyalaya, Ruwanwella and Maliyadeva Girls School, Kurunegala

Rashmi was admitted to the Grade One of Central College, Yatiyantota in 2006 and her Principal was Mr. Premaratne and first class teacher was Mrs. Sunethra. When she was in Grade Four she participated in the Inter House Athletic Meet of her school in 50 and 75 metres and in High Jump and she was the Champion in the under 10 age group in 2010 and in the following year she was the Champion Athlete and won 100, 200 metres and high jump. Noticing the keenness and talents in sports her father a fine volleyball player during his hey day A. H. Obeysekera and mother S. M. Indra Jayanthi admitted their daughter to Grade Seven of Rajasinghe Madya Maha Vidyalaya, Ruwanwella in 2014.

She joined seventh standard of Rajasinghe Madya Maha Vidyalaya in 2014 and she was in Grade Eight she was the Champion Athlete and she swept the board in all these three years in High Jump 100 and 200 metres At the Divisional, Zonal and District Meets She was the second in 2015 Provincial Meet she was the first and carried away the Best Athlete Award and won Colours and her coach was Mrs. Navodya. In the mean time she attended Throw Ball practices under Mrs. Navodya and in 2015 she was selected to represent Sri Lanka in 4th Asian Girls’ Throw Ball Tournament held in Malaysia and Sri Lanka came second out of eight teams and Rashmi was awarded Junior Colours. In 2016 she won events in the Divisional, Zonal and Provincial Meets and was adjudged as the Best Provincial Athlete. After passing the Ordinary level Examination she shifted to Maliyadeva Girls School, Kurunegala in 2018. Whilst at Rajasinghe Vidyalaya Mrs. Nayana Kumari (Volleyball), Navodya Prasanna, Prasanna Aloysius (Netball Coach) and Prefect of Games Mr. Polgampola and the Principal Mr. Harischandra were very supportive of her. Mrs. Mangalika was instrumental in admitting Rashmi to Maliyadewa College.

In 2018 they won the under 17 Divisional, Zonal and Provincial titles in Volleyball and in 2019 they repeated the same performances. In the same year in the DSI Super Sports All Island Schools Tournament their school came within the Best Eight of the island. In the 2019 Colours Nite she won the Best Players Award and School Colours. Presently Rashmi is in the Sri Lanka Under 23 Junior Netball Squad. When she was at Yatiyantota Central Mr. Premarathne and Mrs. Sunethra and then when she was at Rajasinghe Vidyalaya Mrs. Navodya Nayana Kumari, Mrs. Asha Dilrukshi, Mr. Polgampola, Chaminda Jayaratne, Mrs. Mangalika and the Principal Mr. Harishchandra and at Maliyadewa Girls Mrs. Soma Ratnayake and Mrs. Asha helped her to achieve success.
