‘Most Ven. Napane Pemasiri Maha Nayake Thera’s death, a great loss to all communities’

Issuing a condolence message on the demise of Most. Ven. Napane Pemasiri Maha Nayake Thera of the Ramanna Chapter yesterday, Justice Minister Ali Sabry said it was an irreparable loss not only to Buddhists, but to all communities in the country.

The Justice Minister said, “The Ven. Thera rendered a yeoman service to the Buddha Sasana and the country. He was respected not only by the Buddhists, but by all other communities and religious groups. The Ven. Thera was humble and compassionate, and radiated an aura of piety.

“Just as he was guided by great Bhhikku teachers, he helped to impart a Buddhist education and values to a long line of young Bhikkus. He always came forward to give valuable advice to the rulers of the country from time to time. The erudite monk will long be remembered for his services to the Maha Sangha, Buddha Sasana, and the country. May he attain the Supreme Bliss of Nibbana.”
