HelpAge X’ mas and New Year cards for a worthy cause

People from all walks of life are getting ready to celebrate Christmas and New Year on a grand scale. During this season young and old ones never forget to send HelpAge greeting cards to their loved ones as they did in previous years.

HelpAge Sri Lanka has printed over 500,000 Christmas greeting cards to support a worthy cause - to improve the health facilities, especially the eye care facilities of the elderly.

The proceeds will be utilized to perform free Cataract Surgeries on low income and underprivileged senior citizens aged 55 and above.

HelpAge Executive Director Samantha Liyanawaduge said senior citizens who wish to get their Cataract Surgeries done completely free of charge could visit the HelpAge Eye Hospital, No-14, Sinsapa Road, Wellawatta (Opposite Savoy Cinema).

“Surgeries are performed with high quality foldable Intraocular Lenses at HelpAge Eye Hospital,”.

He said HelpAge has so far performed 38,000 free cataract surgeries and anybody who wishes to contribute towards this free Cataract Surgery Programme could be a partner of this worthy cause.

HASL, Manager Fundraising, Ruchilalani Batuwantudawa said Cards are on sale at affordable prices at all leading book shops in Colombo and suburban areas. Cards can also be personalized with your corporate logo and name in colour or black and white.
