Ten former SL cricketers to play in Mauritius ‘Cric10’ League

As many as 10 former Sri Lanka cricketers are set to participate in the inaugural Mauritius Cric10 League Cricket Tournament, which gets underway at the National Stadium in Mapou on November 11.

This tournament is the biggest cricket league in Mauritius and will have over 78 international cricketers from Sri Lanka, West Indies, Canada, South Africa, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, England and the United Arab Emirates competing against each other.

In addition, 12 local talented playerswill also have the opportunity to compete in this six-team tournament, which will be worked off in a 10-over format.

The sixteams competing in this tournament are Curepipe Crushers, Goodlands Riders, Mahebourg Storms, Saint Pierre Quakers, Bambous Raptors and Rose Hill Warriors.

Former Sri Lanka Captain, Tillakaratne Dilshan is probably the biggest star to confirm and he will turn out for the Saint Pierre Quakers along with former Sri Lanka opening bowler Dilhara Fernando.

Meanwhile, former Sri Lanka mystery spinner, Ajantha Mendis will lead the Rose Hill Warriors, together with two of his fellow compatriots, Sachithra Senanayake and Saliya Saman.

Former Sri Lanka middle order batsman, Chamara Kapugedera wills Captain theGoodlands Riders and he will have the services of two of his fellow compatriots, Malinda Pushpakumara and Rajiva Weerasinghe.

Former Sri Lanka World Cup player, Chamara Silva will turn out for Mahebourg Storms while former Sri Lanka spinner Malinga Bandara is the overseas signing for Bambous Raptors.

Herschelle Gibbs (South Africa), Lance Klusener (South Africa), Owais Shah (England), Umair Ali Khan (UAE), Hammad Azam (Pakistan), Sandeep Singh (India), Abdul Shakoor (UAE) and Amjad Khan (UAE) are the other international players who would play in this tournament.

The tournament will be organised and conducted under the ages of the Ministry of Sports and Federation of Cricket Club of Mauritius in support with the Government of Mauritius.
