The Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurvedic Hospitals Development and Community Health State Ministry last week introduced an indigenous herbal drink, Suwadharani, to boost immunity against COVID-19.
The drink was introduced to the market at a ceremony at the Ayurvedic Department, Navinna, Maharagama with the participation of State Minister Sisira Jayakody. State Minister Jayakody said the indigenous medicinal packSuwadharani is for the people at high risk of contracting the virus. The State Minister said that the medicine has been in use for some time, and those who took this medicine as a drink had improved their immune system.
“These medicines contain our local herbs. There is no side effects. Anybody can take this as a drink for good health. Western medicine is yet to find a drug to counter the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.
