The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) officials headed by its President Shammi Silva met Shavendra Silva, Commander of the Sri Lanka Army and the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 to discuss the health related matters pertaining to Bangladesh Cricket tour of Sri Lanka to be commenced at the end of this month.

After the initiative made by the Sports Minister, Namal Rajapaksa last Monday, instructing the SLC officials to consult with the covid task force and seeking a reconsideration to accommodate the Bangladesh cricket team's tour of Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh Cricket Board(BCB) refused to accept the conditions laid by the SLC on various factors including the 14-day quarantine.

The SLC delegation met Shavendra Silva and had a lengthy discussion yesterday on the health related matters to find a favorable solution to pursue the tour. He has promised them that he will consult the related officials in the health sector and give SLC a favorable reply within the next few days. (A.N)
