The under 13 first year player, all rounder, right hand middle order bat, right arm leg spinner Pitiya Wattage Deshan Madushanka excelled in the under 13 cricket tournament for his Alma Mater Wadduwa Central College.
Deshan commenced his schooling at Junior School, Molligoda and at the age of 9 he joined the Cricket Academy of Molligoda and in 2017 he was admitted to Wadduwa Central College. When he was at Molligoda Vidyalaya he took part in the inter school Athletic Meets annually and did 100 meters and won places. He attended cricket practices in the under 13 age group under Danushka Perera at Wadduwa Central and got selected to the team but due to an injury he could not play in the first year. But in 2019 he scored 358 runs with two fifties and captured 60 wickets with three five wicket hauls.
Wadduwa Centralians were unbeaten through out the tournament but they lost to Royal College, Colombo in the final and this year Deshan will be playing in the under 15 team.
