The Presidential Commission of Investigation (PCoI) into the Easter Sunday attacks yesterday ordered the Criminal Investigation Department a full scale investigation into the mobile phone and the laptop in which the voice clip of the conversation between former State Intelligence Chief DIG Nilantha Jaywardena and former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando is said to have taken place and produce a report to the commission within two weeks.
The Commission also ordered the CID to check whether this mobile phone and the laptop had information with regard to the suicide bomber Sharan Hashim and his accomplices who had been involved in the Easter Sunday attacks.
The Commission Chairman last Monday ordered to keep the relevant mobile phone and the laptop under the custody of Senior DIG Mahesh Welikanna who in charge of Commission Former State Intelligence Chief DiG Nilantha Jayawardena gave evidence for the 24th time before the Commission yesterday.
Jayawardena produced the relevant voice clip containing the conversation he had with the former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando in the aftermath of the Easter Sunday attacks to the Commission on Monday.
