Sri Lanka Army Special Forces Passing-Out Parade

The passing-out parade of the Sri Lanka Army Special Forces (No.50) Course was held at Maduruoya Special Force Training School, last Saturday.

The graduation ceremony was presiding over by Chief of Defence Staff, Army Commander and Commander of Special Forces Regiment, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva. Five officers and 295 other ranks that had completed 50 Special Forces courses passed out at the parade.

Trained in air, sea and land combat, as well as naval battles, these Special Forces troops are capable of acting swiftly in any challenge to the country. Officer 71087 Lieutenant T.M.T.G.N.M. Thennakoon won the 'Best Physical Exercise Student Award' and Lance Corporal Aluthgedara S. 532881 was adjudged the 'Best Shooter'.

The moment of delivering awards was done by Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva. Apprentices who have taken this course will pay their respects, drill parade, band parade, parachute parade, assault, assault motorcycle parade, marshal art parade, and urban military action parade. Special attention was paid by the people who attend the event held at the drill ground.

The Commanding Officer of the Maduruoya Special Forces Training School, Colonel R.P.S. Prasad, as well as other officers and ranks, and parents and relatives of departed soldiers, were also present at the event.
