The National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) will build 1,610 houses for the homeless in the Kurunegala District this year under the instructions by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, NHDA District Manager Senadheera Narasinghe said.

She said that 449 houses will be constructed this month and 48 houses have been handed over to the deserving householders.

Each house holder is granted Rs. 600,000 to build his house by the NHDA.

“To make this project a success, the assistance of well-wishers and donors is sought to help the homeless in the Kurunegala District,” she said.
