‘Maga Neguma’ should be streamlined – State Minister Lanza

Community Development and Other Infrastructure State Minister Nimal Lanza said that the Maga Neguma institute should be streamlined to meet the Government target in developing 100,000 kilometers of road network.

The State Minister was on an inspection tour at the Maga Neguma, Road Construction and Machinery Company recently

He inspected the Peliyagoda Maga Neguma, Road Construction and Machinery Company under the State Ministry of Rural Roads and Other Infrastructure.

He said that the Maga Neguma Institute, which has a major responsibility in constructions under the National Programme of Developing 100,000 kilometers of road, should be committed to achieve its goal.

He said that all officers working in the institute from the highest level to the lowest should work collectively to provide a superior service to the people since the machinery owned by the company belong to them. “The assets of the company should be used to provide maximum service to the people,” he said.

“The development of 100,000 km of road is a big project. It should be completed in next five years. The project is a promise given to the people by the President.

The State Minister said that every stakeholder in the project should move forward in brotherhood along with the Road Development Authority to achieve the goal.

Ministry Secretary Prof. Ranjith Dissanayake, Maga Neguma Chairman Krishantha Kapuwatta and officials were present.
