Case against Johnston, two others postponed

A corruption case filed against Minister of Highways and Chief Government Whip Johnston Fernando and two others was yesterday postponed till December 04 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne.

The case is over allegedly causing an unlawful loss of Rs. 40 million to the government by employing 153 employees of the Cooperative Wholesale Establishment for election work between 2010 and 2014.

Accordingly, the case against Road and Highways, Ports and Shipping Minister Johnston Fernando, former CWE (Lak Sathosa) Chairman Eraj Fernando and the former Minister’s Private Secretary Raj Mohideen Mohammad Sakeer was postponed till December 4.
