Public Day changed to Monday

Cabinet approval was granted to shift the Public Day from Wednesday to Monday, Co-Cabinet spokesman Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila said.
Speaking at the weekly Cabinet media briefing yesterday at the Government Information  Department, Minister Gammanpila said that  the decision to move the ‘Public Day’ will be effective from next Monday (14).

“This decision had been taken after considering the drop in attendance in Parliament on Wednesdays due to the ‘Public Day’, he said.

At last week’s Cabinet meeting, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa informed all Cabinet Ministers, State Ministers and Ministry Secretaries to allocate the Public Day only to solve issues of the public.

A special circular will be issued with this regard by the Secretary to the President.
