Government accomplished many services within short time - ACMC MP Muszarraff

The Government under the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has done many great things within a short period of time. A parliamentarian needs to appreciate those great things, All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) Parliamentarian Muszarraff said.

He was speaking to the Daily News on Wednesday.

The MP said that the Government has taken steps to eradicate drugs, underworld gangs and poverty. “The Government took immediate steps to control the COVID 19 pandemic and succeeded. Many developed countries are still controlling the pandemic, while Sri Lanka has controlled it successfully,” he said.

“Another tragedy struck our country in the sea of Sangamankantha in the Ampara District. The MT New Diamond ship caught fire on September 3 posing a big challenge for the Government.

The ship caught fire 38 miles away from the seashore. It was a big threat to the environment and people of the country,” Muszharraff said.

The MP expressed his sincere gratitude to the Sri Lankan Navy, Air Force, Coast Guards, NARA, MEPA and Indian Coast Guard for their tireless efforts in dousing the fire. “As a result of the concerted efforts of the disaster management teams, MT New Diamond fire has been successfully controlled September 8,” he said.

“The Government is taking steps to drive out underworld gangs from. I Fifty million rupees were allocated for the Heda Oya Project. It will enhance the availability of water for drinking and irrigation.

The Ampara and Moneragala Districts will benefit from it,” MP Muszarraff said.

“The two-third majority strengthened the Government. All the previous two-third majority governments had strengthened their government, not the country. This Government also secured two-third majority in the recently concluded Parliamentary polls.

The President, Prime Minister and Government MPs will use the mandate for the betterment of the country, not for the Government,” Muszharraff said.
