Child needs kidney transplant

Thirteen-year-old T.W. Kalana Nimsara de Zoysa has been receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital for the past one-and-a-half months due to kidney failure.

Dr. S. Thalgahagoda, a specialist at the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital, who is treating this student, has recommended that an O-positive or B-positive kidney transplant be performed from an individual between the ages of 21 and 47.

In addition to that, the doctor has informed that it could cost the parents a sum of Rs.800,000 for the medicines he needs. He says that the father of this student, T.S. Herbert Zoysa, who makes ends-meet by taking on odd jobs, cannot afford the medicines. He urges donors to help him. An account number 035 200146329492 has been opened with the People's Bank in Ambalangoda for this purpose. The father of the child requests those who wish to help to call him on 076 2151789 or 076 2155342 for more information.
