Case against former CDS Chief fixed for December 2

Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake yesterday fixed further inquiries into the case filed against former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Ravindra Wijegunaratne for December 2. When the matter was taken up, the Magistrate ordered the Criminal Investigations Department to investigate whether other passports were obtained in the name of former Navy Lieutenant Commander Chandana Prasad Hettiarachchi or another.

The Magistrate made this order pursuing to a request made by Counsel Achala Seneviratne.

Former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Ravindra Wijegunaratne and Lieutenant Commander Galagedara Laksiri have been accused of allegedly aiding and abetting former Navy Lieutenant Commander Chandana Prasad Hettiarachchi to evade courts regarding this incident.
