Colts Cricket Club have retained the services of as many as 10 top Premier League players for the SLC Major Under-23 Inter-Club Cricket Tournament, which gets underway next week.

The defending champions with the backing of several senior players are favourites to retain the title once again as they look to begin the 2020/21 Inter-Club season on a successful note.

Colts CC, who are drawn in Group ‘C’ will launch their defence for the Under-23 title with a game against Moors SC on their home grounds at Havelock Park on September 16.

The rest of their opponents in Group ‘C’ will be the NCC, Saracens SC, Kalutara TC and the Sri Lanka Ports Authority CC.

Colts CC will be coach by former Sri Lanka cricketer, Indika de Saram with wicket-keeper batsman Vishad Randika as the Captain and former SL Under-19 cap Jehan Daniel as Vice-Captain.

In fact, right-hander Randika was one of their most successful batsman during the recently concluded SLC Premier League Tournament where he accumulated 539 runs inclusive of one century and four half centuries.

Another star player in the Colts CC line-up is Sri Lanka dashing opening batsman Avishka Fernando who will be determined to make amends after going through a modest Premier League Tournament.

The other key players in the line-up are Nipun Malinga, Nipun Ransika, former Sri Lanka Under-19 left-arm seamer Dilshan Madushanka and former Sri Lanka Under-19 left-arm spinner Rohan Sanjaya.
