The National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 said that 17 new COVID-19 patients were found as at today morning.
Nine had been identified as inmates of the Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation center and Eight returnees (three from Kuwait and five from Qatar).
The total recoveries in the country has risen to 2935.
According, there are only 193 active cases being treated in various hospitals across the country.
The total count of positive coronavirus cases found in Sri Lanka currently sits at 3140. Sri Lanka has witnessed 12 deaths from the virus so far.
