Muzammil vows to solve Uva’s pressing problems

Uva Province Governor A.J.M. Muzammil said yesterday that he will strive to solve the problems and uplift the living standards of the people in the province.

“I have grasped the difficulties and problems in this underdeveloped province and I resolve to provide a solution to the difficulties of the people with the assistance of the central government,” he said. The Governor said he has focused his attention on the housing problem and the poor health facilities for the estate workers. Governor Muzammil was speaking after assuming duties at the Uva Province Governor’s office yesterday.

“I will solve these problems as early as possible. Rural roads should be developed. The Uva Province is a multi-religious province."

"When I was in the North Western Province, I helped to develop all the religious places and I associated with the Buddhist monks and the Hindu, Christian, and Muslim clergy,” he said.

“Extremists have no place in the world. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa accepts the freedom to practise one’s religion,” Governor Muzammil said.

“Everyone should respect the law. The new Constitution will solve many problems in Sri Lankan society. I am always willing to offer my services to the public."

"The public servants should undertake their services to the people with honesty and dedication. Anyone can come and meet me at any time,” he said.

Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva and several others spoke. Clergy, politicians, well-wishers, and citizens in Badulla and Moneragala participated.
