Hatton Police yesterday arrested a person who posed as a medical practitioner following a complaint made by the Board of Trustees of the Jumma mosque in Hatton.
Police have received information that this suspect had provided medical advice to patients.
Preliminary investigations have revealed this quack was visiting the Hatton area once a week from Puttalam, and many persons are waiting for him to obtain treatments.
The police have also found Rs. 150,000 in his possession at the time of arrest.
Police sources said that he did not have any document to prove that he was a medical practitioner
