‘Vocational training paves way for sustainable development’

Livelihoods and economy of the youth and their families can be enhanced by providing vocational training to jobless youth and building them into active employees for the labour market, All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) MP Musharraf Muthunabeen said.

He was addressing an event organised by the Divisional Secretariat of Pottuvil to provide sewing machines for the beneficiaries recently. “I urge the Government to ensure that the development projects which are going to be implemented soon should focus on Sustainable Development goals,” he said.

He said that sustainable development can be enriched through improving the livelihood of the people. Today the people are pushed into a massive crisis because developments are carried out without any foresight.

MP Muszharraff Muthunabeen was the chief guest. The Divisional Secretary of Pottuvil Divisional Secretariat, the Assistant Divisional Secretary and many other officials were present.
