Six persons test COVID-19 positive, eleven recover

The National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID–19 in a press release stated that six persons had tested positive for the COVID-19 and another eleven persons had recovered from the virus by yesterday morning.

One of the affected persons had been identified as an inmate of the Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre and the rest were returned to the country from India, Bahrain and Qatar.

The recovered persons also were overseas returnees.

According to the press release, 37, 522 persons have so far completed their quarantine and 7, 403 persons are in quarantine at 70 quarantine centres operated by the tri-forces.

Another 552 persons were also released after completion of their quarantine yesterday.

Further 1, 880 PCR tests were carried out yesterday. The total number of 237, 610 PCR tests were carried out in the country so far.

Forty-three Sri Lankans who were stranded in Dubai and Doha had returned to the Country yesterday.

Twenty-one persons had arrived in Sri Lanka from Dubai by EK 648 aircraft and 64 had arrived from Doha by QR 668 aircraft; later they were directed to quarantine centers which are operated by the tri forces.
