The turmeric in sacks.
The navy seized about 815kg of dried turmeric in Ettalai, Kalpitiya yesterday, and three suspects who were attempted to smuggle them into the country have been arrested.
The turmeric has been stuffed in 30 gunny sacks to be transferred. Along with the suspects, a small lorry was detained. The suspects are residents of the area. The suspects along with turmeric and lorry were handed over to the Kalpitiya Police.
