A woman died when a part of her house collapsed on her when a Kithul tree fell over the house in Rumassala, Galle in strong winds and heavy rains yesterday, Galle District Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said.
The deceased was identified as Sunila Kanthi Jayasinghe (59) of Pahalawela, Rumassala, Unawatuna. The tree had fallen about 1 am yesterday, DMC said.
