Two suspects were arrested in Uduwa with 4.750 grams of heroin on Wednesday night by Moragahahena Police on a tip off. A husband and wife were arrested last morning in Pinnaduwa they were while travelling on a motorcycle. According to the Police, the couple had 500.650 grams of heroin hidden inside five coconuts. The 28-years-old man and the 23-year-old woman are residents of Dadella, Galle. Another female suspect in Akmeemana was also arrested after interrogating the couple.
The woman had Rs. 140,000 and a mobile phone. She is an 18-year-old resident of Rajagaha-Uyana, Akmeemana.
Detention orders will be obtained by the police for three suspects to carry out further investigation, police said.
