Bring those involved in Easter attacks to book - Sajith

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) leader Sajith Premadasa yesterday said that those who are involved in the Easter Sunday attacks should be brought to book.

He was of the view that the laws implemented by the government of Singapore against drug peddlers and terrorists should be enforced in the country too.

Premadasa was addressing the media after receiving the blessings of the Asgiriya and Malwatte Mahanayake Theras in Kandy yesterday.

He said that the people in the country have entrusted the roles of governance and the opposition with two new parties.

The Opposition Leader also presented the Mahanayake  Theras copies of Hansards containing his speeches made in Parliament between January and March.

Premadasa added that the doors are open to those who accept the Samagi Jana Balawegaya policies to join the party.

“There is no room for those involved in corruption or fraud in our party,” Premadasa said.

He added that the institutions established under the 19th Amendment to the Constitution should be secured.

“If the Independent Commissions are presumed to be partial and what needs to be done is to make them more independent and impartial without abolishing them,” he said.
