The Navy along with the Sri Lanka Coast Guard apprehend two suspects with 5.500g of gold during a special search operation carried out in northern seas on August 28 on a tip off.
The operation was carried out about 14.5 nautical miles off Kovilan Lighthouse in Karainagar assisted by the Coast Guard. The gold was in 04 parcels aboard.
The suspects together with gold were handed over to the Jaffna Customs Office.
