Over 1,000 returnees quarantined in Galle

A total of 1,051 Sri Lankans who arrived from overseas recently are currently being quarantined at a number of hotels in Koggala and Kosgoda under the supervision of Sri Lanka Army, Galle District Regional Epidemiologist Venura K. Singakkara stated. The returnees have come from the Maldives, India, Dubai and Australia, he said.

The group comprises 491 Sri Lankans from the Maldives, 163 from India, 142 from Dubai and 255 from Australia.

Each one of them on arrival had to undergo PCR tests at the airport. They will have to undergo another PCR test after 14 days. They are under the supervision of the Medical Officers (MOs) and Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) of the district, he added.
