Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) expressed their gratitude to Dr.Anil Jasinghe, Director, National Health Services and his team of officials for participating in a healthy discussion and their positive approach in granting favourable health guidelines to resume cricket in Sri Lanka, in the upcoming months including the domestic tournaments and International tours commencing this month.

The SLC had a healthy meeting with health authorities at their ministry yesterday, forwarded their future plans to restart cricket in the country involving Anil Jasinghe and his officials. It is learnt that SLC has sought the necessary permission with regard to playing conditions, attracting the spectators and players behaviour.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) was very positive on the requested plan and is to grant the approval on a priority basis. They are also in the process of discussing allowing 20% spectators to witness the domestic tournament the Premier League, which is to resume from the 10th of this month. This will be followed by the Lanka Premier League (LPL) and the Bangladesh tour of Sri Lanka which is tentatively fixed for the month of October.

Meanwhile over 143 players have requested for their participation in the LPL where only 30 players will be eligible to take part in this year’s tournament. A total of 43 coaches too have applied where only five of them will be allowed to serve in the five teams.
