BCB looking to add T20I’s to SL Test tour

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) are looking into the possibilities of including three T20 Internationals for their series which is now likely to be held in the Island Nation later this year.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are scheduled to play their postponed three-Test series in October and an unconfirmed report suggested that an additional T20 International matches are likely to be included probably after the Test series between the two countries.

Talks between the BCB and SLC are going on about the new schedule and hopefully everything will be finalised soon,” a reliable source close to SLC told the Daily News yesterday.

“Earlier, we were only scheduled to play a three-Test series but now we are also trying to add some T20I matches and we have included that point in the new discussion which started after the suspension of the ICC T20 World Cup.

BCB and SLC announced earlier that they have decided to postpone Bangladesh tour of Sri Lanka to a mutually-planned later date citing lack of preparation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, now, they are thinking of restarting cricket with this rescheduled tour and a decision in this regard is expected to come soon as the Coronavirus cases in Sri Lanka are under control.

The tour can take place either in September-October or October-December and we are working on it as a lot of things have to be taken into consideration before finalising the tour,” the source added further.
