Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) leader Sajith Premadasa said that there will be no obstacles in working together with the President, as they will not be persuaded into issues that the party doesn’t agree upon.
While addressing a gathering at the Colombo Hilton Residencies yesterday (2) he said, “We will not be persuaded into petty issues and petty-minded thinking.Will be playing an important role in carrying out an overall strategy”. He further added, that he will emphasise the importance of national interest and objectives, and those will be the main priorities.
“When there are national interests and objectives, the obstacles will be put aside we will work for the betterment of the country”. Premadasa said President Gotabaya Rajapaksa does have conflicts with his brother (Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa). “There is speculations that the President and his brother are having differences of opinion, being from the same party. I don’t see myself and the President having an issue in working together as my objective is the national interest and not petty political issues”.
