All rallying round SLPP now – Dullas Alahapperuma

People are rallying round the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) for rapid, sustainable economic progress and development, Education, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister and Matara District SLPP leader Dullas Alahapperuma said.

He was addressing a SLPP meeting in Kamburupitiya yesterday.

Minister Alahapperuma said that under the President, there is no room for frauds, corruptions, malpractices, drug trafficking and underworld gangs. The President and his administration will bring about a more favourable and conducive environment for every ethnic community to live in peace and harmony. “President Gotabaya Rajapaksa seeks a strong mandate for the SLPP from voters in order to accelerate and achieve the development goals of his vision, ‘Prosperity and Splendour’. “The President had to confront the deadly coronavirous pandemic. On his proper instructions, state health authorities and security forces personnel implemented correct health safety measures and overcame the pandemic,” the Minister said.

He said that proper healthcare measures taken by the Education Ministry will save student and teachers from COVID 19.

“We have only 373 national schools now. The Education Ministry will increase the number up to 1,000,” he said. The Minister said that developing the youth’s skills will help them find jobs. The Matara District is one of the poor districts in the country. The rate of unemployment here is very high now. The previous regime was inattentive to pressing issues of the youth in the district. With the SLPP coming into power, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will uplift the economy in the country,” he said.

The Minister said that unlike the previous regime, the Government treats graduates equally. “They will not be discriminated on their internal and external degrees,” he said..

Former SPC member Chandana Siribaddana, Kamburupitiya PS member Weerasinge and several other spoke.
