Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) candidate from Badulla District, actress Oshadi Hewamadduma said that donkeys and horses are in every political party, and she does not retract her recent statements to the media even if it concerns her own party.
In a recent interview with the Daily News, she said, “There are incompetent politicians in every party, and because of such politicians the hardworking, intelligent and dedicated politicians are getting a bad name for the party”.
She said parties are glorifying them for absolutely nothing.
“Politicians are in political parties who genuinely work for the country and its people, but there is another faction that does nothing. That’s why I said at a recent event that donkeys and horses are in every party. I will not refute my comment; such politicians should not be elected,” she said.
Hewamadduma added the people should know about their candidates and elect those who work for the country, its progress and the people.
