SLIC joins hands with ‘SLBC Studio 6’

In supporting the re - awakening of the local broadcasting giant Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC), Sri Lanka Insurance (SLIC) partners with the ‘SLBC Studio 6’ classical music program broadcasting from the SLBC Studio 6.

Remembering the golden era of music industry of Sri Lanka the ‘SLBC Studio 6’ programme reflects the efforts of artists in the music industry recognizing and felicitating their contribution.

The ‘Studio 6’ programme is named after the historic ‘Studio 6’ of Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation which is one of the oldest studios in Sri Lanka with an illustrious history of recording thousands of timeless classical songs of Sri Lanka and producing many veteran artists to the country. From musicians, lyricists to the vocal legends of Sri Lanka many began their creations at the prestigious Studio 6.

The first session of the programme took place at SLBC Studio 6 on July 10 felicitating the veteran lyricist Kularathna Ariyawansha. The colourful session was graced by the veteran artists in the industry Rohana Weerasinghe, T.M.Jayaratne, Dileepa Abeysekara, Bandula Nanayakkarawasam and Sunil Sarath Perera.
