Over 240 expats return from Saudi, Qatar and Philippines

Several Sri Lankans who were stranded aboard due to the COVID-19 pandemic arrived in the country on Tuesday morning. According to airport sources, they had arrived from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the Philippines. 

A SriLankan Airlines charter flight brought more than 200 Sri Lankans from Riyadh in Saudi Arabia at around 7:00 a.m, on Tuesday. Those who came from Qatar had arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) at 1:45 a.m. on a Qatar Airways flight, while over 40 Sri Lankans had arrived from the Philippines on Monday night on a SriLankan Airlines charter flight.

Upon arrival at the airport, all passengers had been subjected to Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests before being sent to nearby hotels until the results were released.
