Five suspects remanded for harassing female Russian tourist

The five suspects who were arrested for allegedly harassing a female Russian tourist at Galle Face Green in Colombo were remanded till July 10 by Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake yesterday. The Magistrate issued an order directing the prison authorities to produce suspects before Court on the next calling date for an identification parade. The Russian woman has claimed that she was harassed at Galle Face Green by a group of about 10 men while on a walk with three friends on June 5. The Fort Police stated that the suspects were arrested following a complaint made by the Russian woman. The Magistrate fixed further inquiries for July 10.
