Education and Sports Ministry should work together to develop sports, says Dullas

The Education,Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Dullas Alahapperuma is making arrangements for both Sports and Education Ministries to work together to develop sports .

According to a senior official of the Sports Ministry National sports bodies and school sports associations have to work together to get successful results. All National Sports Bodies are under the Sports Ministry while all school sports associations are under the Education Ministry.

Minister Alahapperuma wanted to see both school and national bodies to work together with one vision. to make this programme a National activity plan.

The Secretary of the Sports Ministry K.D.S Ruwanchandra has already invited the officials of National sports bodies and schools association officials to discuss the future arrangements of the sports and it's development programme for this joint effort.

AlreadyNetball, Judo, Hockey, Taekondo Table Tennis, Wrestling, Badminton, Football, Rugby, GymnasticsBasketball,,Rowing, Boxing,

Baseball, Chess and Squash national body officials and school association officials had successful discussions with Sports Ministry officials while other sports bodies and their respective school sport association officials are expected to meet the Sports Ministry officials to give their views for this development programme.

The Sport Ministry officials and Education Ministry officials are serving under the one Minster,this time and this is an opportune moment to make a successful development programme to make talented sportsmen and sportswoman.

This joint activity program from National sports body and it's School sports association will pave the way to produce talented athletes and that is the very essential to uplift Sri Lanka sports.
