170 expats return from Lebanon

A special charter flight carrying over 170 Sri Lankans stranded in Lebanon due to the COVID-19 pandemic, landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) around 5:00 a.m., yesterday.

The passengers, who arrived by SriLankan Airlines Flight UL 1506, were subjected to Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests before being sent to nearby hotels for isolation. Over five flights from the national carrier have travelled to West Asia to bring back stranded expatriates.
