We will solve human-elephant conflict - Premier

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa pledged to provide a sustainable solution to the human-elephant conflict that is having a grave impact on the rural communities.

He assured that none of the country’s assets would be sold off and that his government would ensure that the country’s future generation inherits a democratic country.

A series of public meetings was organized in the Kurunegala District under the patronage of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Prime Minister made this pledge addressing a public meeting held in the Medagama area yesterday. During this public meeting, an elderly woman donated her elder’s allowance of Rs. 5000 to the National Covid-19 Fund.

She handed over her contribution to the Prime Minister. During his visit, the Prime Minister had noticed a child from Siyambalanduwa who was ill and had instructed the authorities to make arrangements to direct the child for medical treatment.

Subsequently, the Prime Minister participated in a public rally at the residence of former MP Tharanath Basnayake in Ehetuwewa. Rajapaksa noted that his government is committed to serving the people and has focused their attention on resolving the issues faced by the rural people.
