More Sri Lankans repatriated from Australia

A group of Sri Lankans stranded in Australia due to the COVID-19 pandemic returned to the country yesterday (19) morning on a special SriLankan Airlines charter flight.

According to Airport Officials, the national carrier landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with more than 98 passengers on board. Some of the returnees were students, and others had arrived after getting stranded due to Australia’s lockdown of its airports.

The nationals who had returned were subjected to PCR tests and later sent to nearby quarantine centres.
